Chasing growth, one trip at a time.

Summer’s here, and with it comes that irresistible urge to get out there—pack a bag, grab a ticket, and follow the sun wherever it leads. Travel has always been a part of us. Before the girls came along, my husband and I were constantly on the move. I’d head to South America at least once a month, and he’d take a couple of domestic trips here and there.

The best part? We’d turn work trips into mini getaways. Whether it was sipping espresso in Buenos Aires or catching a show in New York, we always found a way to enjoy the ride—even if it started as business.

Then, the world hit pause. Covid arrived, and life shifted overnight. Coincidentally, that pause lined up with a big change in our own lives—my pregnancy. As strange as it sounds, the stillness that came with the pandemic was a hidden blessing. I needed the rest. We both did.

But as the world slowly reopened, so did our travel bug. When AJ was just two months old, we were back at it—bags packed, ready to roll. And we haven’t looked back since.

People often ask us, “How do you do it? Traveling with little ones?” And honestly? It’s not always easy.

There’s a lot of adjusting, tons of flexibility, and more than a few deep breaths. But here’s the thing: we’ve seen our girls come alive when we’re out in the world. They soak up new cultures, hear new languages, and light up around new people.

Don’t get me wrong—there have been tough moments. When Gemma was 2 and AJ just 6 months, we had our share of meltdowns, missed naps, and chaotic flights. I’d catch myself mid-flight thinking, Why are we doing this again? But then we’d get home, ease back into routine, and notice something amazing: the girls had grown. Not just in size, but in awareness, curiosity, and confidence.

Now? Gemma’s 4 and AJ’s 3. And honestly, they’re seasoned little travelers. They get excited for trips, help pack their own backpacks, and know the airport routine better than some adults.

What started as short trips turned into longer stays. Last year, we tested the waters with a month abroad. This year? We’re going for three.

Why three months? Why not? Life’s too short not to follow adventure. We’ve learned that stepping out of our comfort zones is where the magic happens—and where the growth lives.

One of my go-to mantras is: “If you’re not pushing your limits, you’re not really growing.” That’s what we’re all about. Whether we’re exploring a new city or hopping on another plane, we’re growing—together. Staying curious, staying open, and falling in love with the world over and over again.

So here’s to the messy, magical, sometimes exhausting world of family travel. It’s not perfect. It’s not always smooth. But it’s 100% worth it. Because in the end, the best adventure isn’t the destination—it’s growing together along the way.

Love, Gemma and Jules’s mom
